You Keep Every Photo with the Kilted Photographer

IJoJoh

John McDermott FRSA, LSWPP, LBPPA, Cr.GWP, B.Sc (Hons), B.D(Distinction)

Today sees a new type of professional wedding photographer in Glasgow. A wedding photographer who puts his customers first, a wedding photographer who doesn't want extra money for reprints and offers great value for money, a wedding photographer who doesn't let you wait months for your photos, or tempts you with proofs and forces you decide to pick the best ones. Having done 76 weddings in 2009 alone, and having more that 40 confirmed bookings for 2010, the Kilted Photographer is one of the most sought after wedding photographers in Scotland at the moment.

For a maximum of £1,250* and an average of £995 for a full day , you get to keep every photo on DVD (edited and un-edited), on average 1,000 (High resolution JPEG) and have the best 300 photos printed off (6x4) and displayed in an album within 72 hours. I also give you a letter giving you permission to reproduce all the high resolution photos on the DVD which you take with you to any photo lab. I once took 1,567 photos at the one wedding! That is the same amount of photos in my Glasgow and Edinburgh City Beautiful books.

* For weddings in England or far up North including travelling expenses and accommodation for the night.

A brand new package, £595 for three hours photography including bridal preparations, the ceremony and formal, informal bride and groom and guests photographs. This can also include mock cutting the cake shots at the reception, time permitting.

Please contact me for an individual quote for your wedding day, for example if you only want me for four or five hours, or if there is little travelling involved on the day. You tell me your budget and I will tailor a package to suit you.

You will save money when you hire me, but more importantly, so will your guests. Imagine how popular you will be when the word spreads that guests do not have to pay £20 for a reprint online, they just ask you to be sent the photo, for free!!! I only upload the best 250 or so, I could not upload the entire 1,000 photos. Other photographers may promise 300 or so photos in total, but many include the guests so they will buy their photos online. I do not put photos of the guests online, I do not wish to make money from reprints, they can get their photos for free from you!

I personally will have photographed 80 weddings in 2009 alone, averaging 1,150 photos per wedding!

I want you to be able to remember every moment when you look at your wedding photographs, the first time you see each other at the alter, your first few kisses, your first touch and hug as husband and wife. I don't want your first memories of being married to be being told to stand there and say cheese! A photographer should be part of the day, not run it!

Most brides register on my website and place their favourite images in their lightbox, so I can see what photos, style and combinations they like, so on the day I can take their favourite photos.

You can view a slideshow of my best photos taken between March and July 2009 here. Part two will follow in December, and please note the quality has been reduced. The music is by a new band called Richmond.

I have given away over 450,000 photos to brides and grooms in only five years. Each one telling a story, being correctly lit and in focus! One day your children and grand children will look at your wedding photos. I want them to smile and I want them to enjoy them. That is the main reason I am a wedding photographer.

I take more photos than TWO photographers would take on the day, plus I capture at least 30 minutes of video footage, so you can see how hard I work for my money!

You can view a sample slideshow of the wedding at Eilean Donan castle here.

The quality has been heavily reduced in order to be uploaded.

You can download the complete itinerary and price list here.

You can view the wedding album gallery here with all the prices of my albums and other products.

I invite you to view my wedding galleries and I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully photographing your wedding. All the photos in the galleries have been reduced in size in order to load quicker on your computer, so they are not as clear as the high resolution photos you will receive on the DVD. Remember, you get to keep all the original photos as well as all the edited ones. If you like a certain effect and want me to apply it to your favourite photo, let me know and I will email it to you.

My favourite location so far has been Eilean Donan Castle near the Isle of Skye. Please feel free to look at Lisa and Duncan's gallery here.

The photos in the individual galleries are just a selection of the best ones, it would take too long to upload every photo I took on the day. Any of the guests can get a copy of ALL the photos from the bride and groom for free anyway! It is possible for your guests to leave comments about the photos. Please check to see if a comment has been left.

I can also video the day for no extra charge, this usually consists of the ceremony, speeches and dancing and is at least 30 minutes long. However, if you hire a videographer I DO NOT video the ceremony, ministers only allow one camera to record.

If you wanted we could have a trial run of what photos I will take on the day, and also to mark your engagement. If it is raining on your day and you do not mind wearing your dress again, I could take an hour of photos when it is sunny, anywhere, it does not have to be at your reception. I once went down to Loch Lomond with the bride and groom and had a relaxing hour with no rush or interuptions.

All new bookings will receive a signed copy of my book called Glasgow City Beautiful or Edinburgh City Beautiful, depending on where you live. I am preparing images for the second edition of my Glasgow book, it has sold out of the first run of 3,000 books in under two years!

There will be an online gallery on this website within 24 hours of your wedding and your basic wedding album and DVD will be ready within 72 hours. It is possible to have a password protected gallery which only you and your wedding party can access.

You can pay a deposit via Paypal at my old website at www.Kiltedphotographer.com, half way down the page.

If I am booked on your day, you could always get dressed up again and have a photo shoot at Loch Lomond when the sun is out and there are no time restraints.

Your guests can now buy gift vouchers from me that the bride and groom can put towards storybook albums, or any of my wedding products. Visit the relevant page for more information.

A Qualified member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (LSWPP) and a qualified member of the British Professional Photographers Association (LBPPA).

"Submit three complete weddings (can be submitted on CD). The aim is to show complete proficiency in the craft of wedding photography, along with creativity and experience in directing shots to create a lasting memory of the day for your bride and groom. Each wedding should include the basics as outlined in Qualified requirements plus a selection of reportage, romantic and formal shots particular to each wedding - at least fifty photographs per wedding. Your own personality and experience will determine the type of shots you take, but they must show proficiency in directing the formal poses such as signing the register, bride and groom in various poses, cake cutting, formal groups, etc. Each wedding should be accompanied by a letter of approval/appreciation or recommendation from the couple concerned."

In March '09 I passed phase one of a photography course which leads to my obtaining my ASWPP (Associateship), that is the next level up from LSWPP (Licentiate).

Taken from swpp.co.uk;

"At this standard (ASWPP), we are viewing images that not only display a high degree of technical ability, but also portray imagination and creativity in execution and presentation. These are important factors that often go hand in hand with higher prices as this qualification is held by the top 10% of practitioners, who coincidentally are often impressive image makers and astute businessmen."

I won my first "Gold" in the SWPP's monthly competition in the wedding photo journalism category. The photo then goes into the grand final. You can see the photo here.

Some of my best photos from Eilean Donan Castle are displayed on the Guild of Wedding photographers website under members galleries which you can view here.

"Our latest portfolio selection shows the creative use John McDermott makes of his surroundings in Scotland, along with the inspiration he obviously uses to energise his couples. The result is a beautiful collection of atmospheric wedding photographs."

Please check to make sure I am free on your date by going to my confirmed bookings page. During busy periods it my not be possible to arrange home visits. (You can download directions to my house (1 Crescent Grove) on the "directions" page at the bottom of the menu.)

If you book me for only three hours I can not guarantee individual family shots or group photos, and if it is raining or the bride is late, my job is obviously harder, but I will try my best to keep my standard of photography as high as possible.

I can photograph the bride getting ready but ONLY if it is at the most 10 minutes from the ceremony location and if there is traffic issues I may not attend if it means rushing.

When you book me you agree to the terms of the contract. You can view it here.

MY FEE MUST BE PAID AT THE VERY LATEST ON THE DAY OF THE WEDDING.

On the top of this page there is a "speaker" symbol which allows you to listen to some classical music while your browse.
